We get hailstones the size of golf balls—sometimes even bigger—and they don’t just fall straight down. With the wind whipping around the hills, they come in at an angle, hammering your roof’s slopes and valleys with a lot more force than a straight drop. That’s why you’ll see granule loss and soft spots on the shingles that look like bruises, and if you don’t catch it early, that damage turns into leaks and rot before you know it.
