You know, living here in Castle Rock, we’re sitting right in that bullseye where the Front Range’s weather patterns just love to line up against us. The geography is the real culprit—we’re perched up on that high plateau, and when those spring and early summer storms roll off the Rockies, they get squeezed and accelerated right over our rooftops. That compression effect is what turns an ordinary thunderstorm into a hail cannon. That’s the killer. A quick five-minute hailstorm might just ding your gutters, but a slow-moving cell over Castle Rock means thousands of impacts per square foot, and that’s when you get the granule loss, the cracked fiberglass mat, and the sealed-down tabs that start lifting. I always tell folks, if you hear that roar and see the sky turn that weird greenish-yellow, don’t wait to check your roof—because by the time the sun comes back out, the damage is already done, and it’s just a matter of whether you catch it before the next rain finds its way in.
