Look, I’ve been replacing roofs in this county for over twenty years, and I can tell you Big Rock gets hit harder than folks realize. The problem is, our homes here are mostly older, with that classic steep pitch and a lot of valley flashing, and those are exactly the spots that take the brunt of it. I’ve seen hail punch through architectural shingles like they were cardboard, and wind lift the edges of a ridge cap so fast that the water gets in before the storm even passes. If you’re on a hill or near the creek bottoms, you’re even more exposed because the wind funnels right up those draws. Bottom line, it’s not a matter of *if* you’ll get hit—it’s a matter of how bad, and I’d rather you know that now than after the insurance adjuster’s already been out here twice.
