Look, I’ve been replacing roofs in this part of Central Texas for over twenty years, and if there’s one thing I can tell you about Holland, it’s that we’re sitting right in the bullseye for springtime hail. I’ve seen it lift the leading edge of a shingle and just peel it back like a sardine can, and once that happens, the next rainstorm is going to find every weak spot in your underlayment. Plus, we get those late-summer squall lines in August and September that roll through with sustained winds that just beat on your ridge caps and valleys. The combination of that constant prairie wind, the sudden hail impacts, and the lack of natural windbreaks means your roof takes a beating that folks in, say, Georgetown or even Belton just don’t see as often. It’s not a matter of if you’ll need a repair — it’s a matter of when.
