You won’t see it from the ground, but that damage weakens the whole roof, and then the next big blow—even a tropical storm that just grazes us—will lift those granules and expose the mat, and suddenly you’ve got leaks in places you never had them before. It’s a one-two punch that’s unique to this coastal strip, and it’s why I tell folks here to check their roofs after every severe storm, not just the ones that make the news.
